Appointment builds on growing customer base and positions the company to convert photonic quantum leadership into scalable revenue and partnerships

Enschede, the Netherlands - 25 March 2026 - QuiX Quantum, the leading European developer of photonic quantum computing systems, today announced the appointment of Robin Wittland as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Wittland will lead QuiX Quantum's global commercial strategy, customer development, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth as the company enters its next phase of growth.
The appointment comes at a defining moment for the company. With more than 15 customers worldwide, market validation has positioned Quix Quantum well beyond pure R&D to deployment, while Europe accelerates strategic investment in quantum technologies, infrastructure, and sovereign capability. Against this backdrop, the organization is strengthening its commercial leadership to expand customer access, deepen strategic partnerships, and further its growing relevance in European sovereign quantum infrastructure programs.
"QuiX Quantum has built a highly differentiated position in photonic quantum computing and is entering a phase where commercial execution becomes increasingly important,” said Robin Wittland, the newly appointed CCO. “With strong technology, proven market traction and growing strategic momentum in Europe, the opportunity now is to translate that position into scalable customer relationships, strategic partnerships, and sustainable growth. I am excited to join the team at this stage and help build the commercial foundation for QuiX Quantum's next phase."
As the quantum industry shifts from research-led progress toward deployment and market development, commercial execution is becoming a decisive differentiator. QuiX Quantum is uniquely positioned to succeed as its systems combine volume manufacturability, low qubits noise, and energy efficiency into a universal photonic quantum computing platform, ideally designed for modularity and growth in hybrid datacenters and HPC environments. The company is now building the commercial foundation required to translate this infrastructure-ready quantum computing position into broader customer adoption, strategic infrastructure relevance, and long-term market leadership.
"Robin combines deep enterprise sales experience with a strong understanding of complex technology markets,” said Stefan Hengesbach, CEO of Quix Quantum. “He has repeatedly built growth strategies, partnerships and commercial organizations in highly competitive environments. This appointment strengthens our ability to convert technology leadership into customer traction and long-term market position."
Wittland brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across enterprise technology, software, hardware, and deep-tech markets. Prior to joining QuiX Quantum, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at planqc, helping to shape the company's commercial strategy in neutral-atom quantum computing. Before that, he held senior leadership roles at Microsoft, where he was responsible for Cloud Productivity and Mobility business growth, go-to-market execution, and commercial development. Earlier in his career, he spent two decades at WORTMANN AG in executive positions - including CMO, CDO, and Head of Software Business, driving significant growth, commercial transformation, and partner expansion.
At QuiX Quantum, Wittland will focus on scaling the company's commercial organization, expanding strategic customer engagements, building industry and government relationships, strengthening the partner ecosystem, and supporting the company's next and advanced stages of growth.
