First-time inclusion reflects QuiX Quantum’s growth and the increasing role of photonics and quantum technology in the Dutch economy

Enschede, the Netherlands, 12 August 2026 – QuiX Quantum has been named to the 2026 Top 250, the annual research by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship identifying the fastest-growing companies in the Netherlands.
This is QuiX Quantum’s first appearance in the Top 250. The Enschede-based photonic quantum computing company is recognised within the Industrial Tech category.
The Top 250 evaluates companies based on their absolute and relative growth in turnover and full-time employment. The 2026 cohort reflects company growth between 2022 and 2025.
QuiX Quantum’s inclusion comes as Industrial Tech is becoming an increasingly important part of the Dutch high-growth economy.
Industrial Tech represented only 2% of the Top 250 in 2017. In 2026, it accounts for 14.4% of the cohort, representing 36 companies. The report specifically identifies advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, photonics, quantum technology and precision hardware as sectors moving from specialist fields towards the centre of European economic and industrial activity.
For QuiX Quantum, the recognition reflects the company’s development from a photonic quantum technology start-up into a growing industrial organisation. Since its foundation in 2019, QuiX Quantum has expanded its technology portfolio, international team and capability to develop and deliver integrated photonic processors, control technology and complete quantum computing systems.
A central conclusion of the 2026 report is that sustainable growth requires more than scalable technology. Companies must also develop the leadership, processes, organisational structures and culture needed to manage increasing complexity.
“Being included in the Top 250 is a proud moment for everyone at QuiX Quantum. Technology is what differentiates us, but people make growth possible. This recognition belongs to the colleagues who bring deep expertise, ownership and energy to turning photonic quantum computing into an industry. Our focus now is to build the organisation, culture and capabilities that can sustain the next stage of growth.”
QuiX Quantum will continue to invest in its people, operational capabilities and international organisation as it advances the commercial adoption of photonic quantum computing.
The company’s first inclusion in the Top 250 recognises the progress already achieved and the contribution of the entire QuiX Quantum team.
QuiX Quantum is a European photonic quantum computing company founded in Enschede, the Netherlands, in 2019. The company develops integrated photonic quantum computing hardware and describes its approach as full-stack and fabless, with systems designed for modularity, scalability, and compatibility with data center and HPC environments. QuiX Quantum has offices in the Netherlands and Germany and is developing universal photonic quantum computing systems based on its silicon nitride photonic technology.
The Top 250 is the annual research by the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship into the fastest-growing companies in the Netherlands.
Companies are assessed based on absolute and relative growth in turnover and full-time employment over a three-year period. A high-growth company is defined as a business achieving average annual growth of more than 20% in turnover or employment, with at least ten full-time employees at the beginning of the measurement period.
