This paper introduces Carina, the world's first universal photonic quantum computer designed for customer deployment, developed by QuiX Quantum. It describes how Carina combines the building blocks for universal, measurement-based photonic quantum computing in a system built to leave the lab and run in a real customer environment.
We explain why measurement-based quantum computing on photonics is a credible route to utility scale, and walk through Carina's architecture and its five core technologies. Building on QuiX Quantum's track record in photonic processors, Carina raises the bar for deployable quantum hardware.
