QuiX Quantum is at the forefront of the development of photonic quantum computing, a rapidly developing sector. We are a high-tech start-up based in Enschede, the Netherlands, and Ulm, Germany. Since our start in 2019, we have presented two world record-breaking quantum photonic processors. As a fast-growing company, we are now looking for a research software engineer to strengthen our team.
As research software engineer you will be part of our software development team. The software team develops software for characterization of quantum hardware, interfaces to and control of our devices and simulators of (quantum) physics processes. Your focus will be on projects where high computing performance is needed, for example in simulating our quantum computing circuits. Given your specific skills, you will be working closely with, aside from the other software team members, our quantum system architects and quantum application engineers on running quantum algorithms on our computers.
· Contributing to our software team
· Developing a quantum computing simulator to identify the effect of errors.
· Simulating quantum photonic circuits
· The (co-)development of the software stack of our first universal quantum computer.
This position can be modified to suit a candidate, and mentorship and training are available for further skills development.
· MSc or PhD in Computational/Theoretical/Quantum Physics or Quantum Computing.
· Experience with HPC and skilled using C/C++ and Python programming languages.
· Some knowledge of software architectures and best practices.
· Experience with working in a software development team.
· Background in quantum physics simulations is a plus.
· Passion for your profession.
· Creative thinking and a proactive style of work.
· Proficiency in English language (verbal & written).
